Nitrogen

Spectroscopy

Nitrogen is an element with the symbol "N" in the periodic table and has proton number 7. Nitrogen is generally a component of approximately 78% of the atmosphere and has an important role in living organisms. It can be found in various forms in inorganic compounds and is commonly found, for example, in nitrogen compounds consisting of ammonia and nitrate. Nitrogen is generally found in the atmosphere as an inert (non-reactive) gas. However, in order for nitrogen to be used by plants and animals, it must be converted into ammonia or nitrate, which is a more bioavailable form. Organisms that carry out this transformation include nitrogen-fixing bacteria, plants and some other organisms. Nitrogen, as an element, is used in various industrial and agricultural applications. Additionally, nitrogen compounds play an important role in the production of many different products, such as explosives, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals and plastics. The chemical reactivity of nitrogen also plays an important role in the synthesis industry and materials science. In short, nitrogen is an important element in both natural processes and industrial applications and is used in a wide range of areas.
